Finally, the wait is over.
even though i've already gotten my feet wet before the album was officially released, i made the trip to Best Buy to purchase a copy of one of the most anticipated albums this year, Rated R. the latest release from my wife. i mean, Rihanna. [though walmart has everything in the freakin world, i do not suggest buying your CDs there. they only carry the amended versions. so, unless you want the clean version.. go to a best buy, f.y.e. wherever.] but anyway... OMG. i am so in love with this album. i bet you're thinking "oh, he loves rihanna of course he loves the album" but.. thats not entirely true. you can't love everything a person does. of the thirteen tracks, i'd say i have listened to about 4 on repeat. lol. i even love the intro, "Mad House." it has a kind of "Thriller" vibe, and it kind of sets the tone for the album. the basic concept of the album is somewhat dark and cynical. She requested songs with somber vibe, but not just dark for the sake of being dark; she wanted dark songs that had some kind of meaning. Rihanna collaborated with a grip of decorated song-writers and producers on the album, including Chuck Harmony, The-Dream, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Chase & Status, Stargate, Demo, and Justin Timberlake. this album has already spawned a few hits; "Russian Roulette", the first single, was released on November 3, 2009, debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number one-hundred, and peaked at number 9 - giving Rihanna her twelfth top 10 single of her career. "Wait Your Turn", was sent to radio as the second UK and European single on November 7, 2009. It will be physically released in 2010. "Hard", the second US single. the song features Young Jeezy, and was sent to Hot 97 by Def Jam. It reached number 20 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs without physically being released. a few of my absolute favorites from the album are: mad house, rockstar 101, rude boy, photographs, and G4L. in the beginning, i had a hard time connecting with the songs "Stupid in Love and "Fire Bomb" mainly because they seemed for people who were in love or something.. but after a few more listens it hit me. and now i OFFICIALLY like the whole album. lol. if you haven't picked up a copy, you are crazy. this is definitely a must have. make sure that even if you downloaded the album already, you still buy an album.. i mean... how can you sleep at night?? you animal! lmao.

wow! lady gaga looks so different at some parts. nice to see a beautiful, refined Gaga for a minute, but we got to see GAGA as well. i love this video. i've only watched it twice (so far), but i can tell that fans are gonna eat this sht up! i think the video really picked up during the second half. the outfits, the looks, everything just got even better. i look forward to seeing Gaga promoting this video. Along with the Monster Ball tour and the re-release of The Fame, "The Fame Monster," due November 23. make sure you buy a copy.

literally dead at the sight of Nicki Minaj in this video. she is so damn bangin. anyway tho. this is the official video for the remix to Yo Gotti's single, 5 Star Chick featuring Gucci Mane, Trina, and Nicki Minaj. so unless you are lameeeee, you know about nicki minaj. she's been on for a while with the whole mixtapes thing, but she is just now starting to get some radio-play with the remixes she has been featured on like this one, and the remix to Mario's "Break Up" but now she is going for her first role in an official video. i'm sure this is gonna be on BET, dunno about MTV .. they be trippn when it comes to gucci. lol. anyway tho. trina looks nice as usual. idk why they were both wearing colored contacts (at least they fit them and weren't like... emerald green or some sht) but i wanted to point out the job WHOEVER did on Minaj's make-up. sht looks ca-razy. i can't wait until she blows up, and releases a full album.

is it me or does everybody else here auto-tune when he talks? apparently, producer/recording artist Ron Browz has been dropped from his label. yea, ALREADY. that's too bad.. i didn't really care for this guy, but i didn't have a problem with the tracks he's recorded or been featured on either. i guess DOA is taking out the weakest auto-tune users (or ABusers). i mean, even T.Pain himself has recorded some non-auto-tune tracks. no one is really sure whats gonna happen with his division of Universal Motown, Ether Boy Records.. but really tho, who cares?

It's That Dirty Money!

before you read this... watch the video.
or at least listen to the song. if you are from NY, you will most likely love this song (well i know i do. lol.) with a few bars from B.I.G and this crazy beat, this makes the song a quick favorite for a brooklyn kid like me. now before i begin.. i'm gonna go ahead and state the obvious: the verses sound about 87% 808s and Heartbreak. anyway tho, i'm in love with this song. you should know about (or atleast have heard about) Dirty Money, unless you don't have internet or something. Dirty Money is a group formed by Diddy, which, consists of himself, Dawn Richards (to be known from this point as: Neon), and Kalenna aka Flux. now.. for anybody that knows me personally, you would know that Dawn is my mistress. yep, runner-up, right after Rihanna. I'm not going to go into detail about Neon, because everybody who has watched MTV (which Diddy must own by now) within the past 5-6 years should know by now who she is and why she's the only one that didn't get her contract ripped up. but Kalenna, or Flux as she is referred to when speaking of Dirty Money, is the other girl in that pic over there.. yea, the one in the Lou's (who-wee!). idk that much about her, but she must be doing something behind the scenes to end up in such a group. (y'all nasty! she ain't fckn him or nothin. lmao.) my guess is that she has been in Diddy's camp for a while as either a writer or someone who does good harmonies and is great for backup vocals. eh, idk, but she's alright with me for now. Diddy's latest release "Angels" is the second single to be leaked from the upcoming album Last Train to Paris which, according to his official myspace, is set to be released: September 22, 2009 (my bday is 9/25.. birthday gift? :]). this song is a good way to show the variety that you will get with this album. most people were thinking the album would be a bunch of crazy, pop, electrofunk -ness, but this shows that there will be something for everyone. i think this single also shows how diddy could utilize autotune to his advantage by not trying to OD with his "vocals" and even though he is not a singer, it sounds very good. i was impressed when i was watching his show on MTV and they showed him in the studio recording this song. so far my iTunes says i've played the song 23 times already. thats almost at the amount of plays the previous single "Love Come Down" has. this track shows that crazy, pop, electrofunk -ness but in a good way. i'm pleased, and i can't wait to get the CD.

mary is back (again), and i've been blastin this song everytime i heard it, even on that AT&T commercial. its just that hot. this is good for all audiences; my mom loves it because... well its MJB, we teens or younger folk feelin it because its... well MJB, with a lil drake on the side. lol. i love this video because its simple, but it seems like there is a lot that went into it. Mary shows off some of her dance moves; which we haven't seen since Family Affair. she looks damn good in this video and i love her with short hair (not that that little braided, wrap, thing isn't nice too..). this is definitely one of the top 5 MJB videos. This single is off of her latest album, "Stronger" set to be released November 24, 2009 (mark your damn calenders!) how you feel about it?

this is a new segment i'll be starting on FTMOTA. this will basically be a blog i do to showcase and feature some of the fly-est readers to let everyone see how they rock the chosen item. this will most likely be done when a hot shoe drops, or i find a popular item on the web, just to see how different people wear certain things. i'll try and pick something that alot of people would have, or can obtain. eh. i think this will be a fun thing to do. it'll be very simple. i'll just tweet the item and i'll take pic submissions and i'll just go thru and pick some of the best ones. i'll try and pick alot of people just to show everyone's POV. its not a contest or anything just a way to show case. you can submit a pic anytime, and if somehow you didn't get picked for a certain item, if you have the next one, you can enter again. lol.
